I've been playing around with different brushes to create more texture in my work. I like how it turned out and will try to use them in a real illustration in the future. Here's a girl sketch I did and a portrait of The Weeknd (his new CD is great by the way)!

The Northern Shopper Poster
I was really happy that Simplebranch contacted me to create a poster for the Northern Shopper. They made NS' beautiful website (http://thenorthernshopper.com/) which was a great source of reference to get a grasp of what Northern Shopper does. They basically get fresh food and goods to the Nunavut via boat and airplane. You can get more info on their website.
The initial idea was to create a map of Nunavut and show where NS delivers the food&goods. Simplebranch told me to go wild and come up with other ideas. I did what I do best and got over 30 ideas on paper. I pitched them 10 ideas that I'm really proud of! I'm sure that I'll be able to use some of them in later projects. We ended up going with the Lime version to match the website.
Thanks again for the project Simplebranch!

Unleashed Baseball Team Logo
I created this logo for a local baseball team named Unleashed. The
brief was fairly simple, they wanted a logo that looked heroic, epic and
powerful in the shape of an U. The colors were previously picked out from their jerseys. I did over 60 initial designs and pitched them 15 options + different layouts to accompany them.
I've always been told by teachers and other professionals to only do 3
to 5 thumbnails and show those to the clients, but I feel that I need to
put down the bad ideas on paper before the good ones come out. It was a
though process but I learned a lot. Good luck this season Unleashed!
Update: The team just sent me a picture of the hat! It turned out beautifully!

Magic Hockey Skate in Toonboom News magazine
Just before the Holiday season, the team at Big Jump Productions worked on the Christmas special, Magic Hockey Skate. Toonboom News magazine released an article about the process we used on the film in their Spring issue. On the first page, you can find a picture of the first scene I animated on the film and me hard at work in the right bottom corner. I'm also mentioned in the second page alongside some of my amazing co-workers. I'm very proud and grateful to have been part of this amazing project as a lead animator.

BMW baby
Here's an illustration I did for a card for one of my friend who just bought a BMW. I posted close ups so you can see some of the cool textures. The last picture is an alternate version I had in mind, the rough version of the final, the initial sketch and different textures I created for the illustration.

Simplebranch poster
Simplebranch posted pictures of the poster I created for them on their facebook page. It's always nice seeing your work printed in big like this. You can find my illustration here.

Merry Christmas!
I was lucky enough to work with the graphic design studio Simplebranch, on their Holiday Card. We came up with roughly 12 ideas and narrowed it down to this one. I had fun with the colors and really liked the lime green and pink one. They decided to go with a more traditional color scheme. I can't wait to get mine in the mail ;)
Musical Torture
Here's an illustration my friend and talented artist Stephane Perrault and I collaborated on. He came up with the idea, design and line work, and I did the dramatic coloring. I think it turned out great! You can find more of Stephane's work on his blog http://sperrault.blogspot.ca/ .

BBQ Flyer
Here's an illustration I made for Roch St-Georges, an Ottawa based real estate agent, for a flyer. Although the project had a quick turn around, I think it turned out great. The black and white version is the one that got printed and the other was just to play around with colors.

More stuff
Here's a couple of random illustrations I did awhile back. The first one was for a Fish Hooks drawing contest that we did at work. The other one is an unused design that I did for the Simplebranch Butler project (here's what we went with in the end (Simplebranch Butler).
Bridal Shower Invitations
I was recently asked to do an illustration for a bridal shower invitation. The theme of the party was Wine and Cheese, so here's what I came up with.
Simplebranch
I've been doing quite a bit of work for the amazing Simplebranch web-design studio. Here's an illustration I did for their website http://www.simplebranch.ca/ and a promotional poster. I also added a few close up of the poster.
